My whole life I was always told that I was blessed with the most amazing natural lashes. Well you know what? I completely agree. However as a woman we always want to enhance the way our natural features are, so we put on mascara.
Now let me tell you - I have used SO much mascara, I probably personally funded the production of mascaras to Shoppers Drug Mart and Sephora. Some of my favourite mascaras have been:
Better Then Sex Mascara from Too Faced - for when I want a dramatic look, with chunkier, dark, voluminous eyelashes.
The Maybelline Total Temptation mascara, which I find gives me almost the same results as the Better Then Sex Mascara, however is much more friendly on the wallet
The Shock mascara from YSL, which I believe I got as a sample from Sephora and I love it! It gives my lashes so much volume, and makes them very dark as well
My newest obsession is the Cover Girl Super Sizer Mascara. This was a recent find. I decided that when I went on my Cuba vacation I needed a new waterproof mascara, and decided that the Super Sizer’s packaging looks quite promising (yes I am one of those girls who is a sucker for packaging) so I decided at $7 CND (which at the time I’m writing this post, Walmart has it on sale for $5 CND) I would give it a try.
Now let me tell you, the initial application was wonderful! My lashes looked full, long, and dark. This mascara didn’t give me to much volume, but it gave me just enough volume for a more “natural” look (which is exactly what you want on vacation)
However - that wasn’t the best part. Now I know I’m going to have a few people criticize me, however the way my eyelashes looked the next morning/day was even better! (Yes… I refused to take off my mascara to see how it would look the next day!) I decided that this was the perfect “lazy girl” mascara, so I decided to buy the non waterproof version.
The non waterproof version was almost as good as the waterproof one, except for the fact that I found it to be a little to runny for my liking. So prior to putting it on, I would shake the wand a little bit to dry off the mascara prior to application. I also found that the non waterproof version didn’t last as long on my eyelashes, and flaked off while I slept (I experimented to see if I would have the same results of not removing it before bed)
So all in all, I do personally love the waterproof version better then the regular version, but if you are the type of person who likes to remove all their makeup before bed, then (unless you have a strong eye-makeup removed) I would say the regular version is your best option.
Until next time!
